Rowan is truly Gr-rowan! Over the past few years, Rowan has not only opened two state-of-the-art academic buildings with Science Hall and Education Hall in Glassboro, but also beautiful townhouses, now home to over 450 students. The South Jersey Technology Park at Rowan University boasts the Samuel H. Jones Innovation Center, a 45,000 square-foot facility with a variety of mixed-use laboratories and a business incubator that are bringing technological marvels to life. While Rowan continues to inspire and innovate on its 188-acre west campus, the all-new Rowan Boulevard will soon create a quintessential college town off the main campus.
Now underway, the project, a $300 million mostly private investment, will link beautiful Glassboro campus with the borough’s downtown. Once complete, the boulevard will feature all new housing for more than 800 students plus restaurants, shopping and entertainment within a short walk of campus. The first set of city-style student apartments will be ready for move-in day in Fall 2009.
Interested in exercise, sports or smoothies? If so, visit the Rec Center on the North side of the Glassboro campus. The 92,000 square foot facility features a three-court gymnasium, indoor track, two Olympic size pools, four racquetball courts, a cycling room, a group exercise studio, fitness and free weight room areas, full locker/shower facilities, and a juice/smoothie bar.
Rowan University at Camden
And great things aren’t just happening in Glassboro; Rowan’s Camden Campus is experiencing a growth spurt of its own. This spring Rowan purchased the former First Camden National Bank & Trust to expand the academic offerings of its Camden Campus. With the recent addition of the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, construction of a medical school building will soon commence for the southwest corner of Broadway and Benson Streets.
