Rowan University has two campuses in Southern New Jersey: a lush 200-acre residential campus in Glassboro and a commuter campus in downtown Camden. Between these campuses Rowan’s roughly 10,000 students pursue degrees in 36 undergraduate majors, seven teacher certifications, 26 Master’s degree programs and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

Our main Glassboro campus is in the midst of a sweeping metamorphosis with construction, now underway, of the all-new $300 million Rowan Boulevard. Once complete, Rowan Boulevard will feature city-style apartment living for more than 800 students. The project will be anchored by a brand new hotel/conference center and will feature dozens of new stores and restaurants including a Barnes and Noble University Bookstore.

On June 25, 2009 N.J. Governor Jon Corzine signed an executive order calling upon Rowan to develop a new four-year traditional medical school in partnership with Cooper University Hospital in Camden. The Governor’s order follows in the grand tradition of commitment to the sciences at Rowan University that accelerated in 1992 when industrialist Henry Rowan donated $100 million to the former Glassboro State College. (The school was later renamed to honor him.)

Mr. Rowan’s goal, the creation of a College of Engineering at the University, was a harbinger of more great things to come. Since then, the University has opened its 150,000 square-foot Science Hall featuring the Edelman Planetarium plus a rooftop observatory and greenhouse, and Education Hall, a 135,000 square-foot facility featuring smart classrooms, distance learning facilities and an early childhood development center. The Rowan gift has led to additional funding from both public and private sources. With these assets, the University is able to offer faculty and students opportunities not available on most public campuses.

College of Professional and Continuing Education offers traditional and non-traditional, credit and non-credit courses and programs that enable students to complete their degree or earn a new one online!
